Gun:  CZ 452 Ultra Lux

Scope:  Clearidge Ultra RM 3-9x32AO Target Dot

Ammo:  Aguila Super Extra Subsonic 38gr. HP

Back to my brother’s place today to give Tony’s stand another try to take out some of his corn pile raiders.  I knew I had thinned the heard somewhat from the last hunt, as there were less squirrels this time.  Shot my first squirrel right in the bean with one shot, nice female.  Second one came from behind me and probably took her at 15 yards.  Right here is a perfect reason to know what your rifle will do at this short distance  Knowing this was a close shot, I placed my target dot on the top of her head and made another head shot.  The last squirrel I took I fired at, as he was in the midst of an up and down motion, so I missed.  I quickly cycled the bolt as he really acted if nothing had happened (thanks Ultra Lux and subsonic ammo) he then faced me and I made a marginal shot in the mid back exiting the lower back.  Not an ideal shot but effective.

It was a productive evening.  Three more corn pile raiders taken out.

Shots taken:  4

Squirrels taken:  3
